Song Store is my collection of cotton block printed leisure wear & textile homewares handcrafted by artisans in India.

Working exclusively in natural fibres and natural dyes & pigments wherever possible. Creating hand block printed cotton and silk garments and accessories which are comfortable and cool to wear. Every piece is woven, printed or stitched by hand resulting in variations in colour, pattern and stitches, reflecting the individuality and true charm of each piece. These textiles have a living link to ancient civilisations with techniques & knowledge passed down through generations of artisans who have kept the traditions alive today with family run businesses in small villages all across India.

I personally select every piece added to my unique collection. Having visited these small family run businesses I can ensure that an authentic process is followed in a kind work environment.

These textiles are not only good for you but good for the environment and 100% compostable.

Hello I’m Claire and I live in New Zealand.

I've been fortunate to have worked with textiles throughout my career. After studying fashion I started out creating my own label of streetwear clothing, this lead me to the world of costume and set decoration textiles for film and advertising. I was given wonderful opportunities to travel which eventually led me to India where the ancient art of hand block printed textiles was introduced to me. Still practiced in India today I want to support these artisans now more than ever to continue this craft into the future.
